First Positive Pregnancy Test- What To Do!?
Hey there pretty ladies and congratulations!!
When I first found out that I was pregnant with my daughter 2 years ago I felt SO uneducated. I had learned a lot throughout my education as a prenatal Ultrasound Technician and then as a Registered Nurse… BUT there was SO SO SO much I did not know! I was more than willing to admit I did not know everything about pregnancy, labor, birth, or being a Mama…BUT I was also determined to learn as much as I possibly could throughout the next 40 weeks! There is not a person on the planet who knows everything there is to know about a woman’s body. Live humbly, keep an open mind, and never lose the desire to educate yourself about the things you’re passionate about. You will learn something new every day for the rest of your life if you will do these simple things.
So… now for the 3 tips I promised!
- Educate yourself! I could give you a list of hundreds of resources I used for any specific topic regarding pregnancy, labor, birth, or postpartum so I would LOVE for you to sign up to my email list & let me know what you would like to learn more about specifically! Here are some podcasts that I highly recommend to generally start with. They cover just about every kind of pregnancy/birth story/postpartum experience, but keep in mind they are just people and I don’t agree with everything they say on their podcasts. https://www.myhappyhomebirth.com/ https://thebirthhour.com/ https://www.birthful.com/category/podcast/
- Get fear out of your life! This mostly means not discussing your pregnancy, labor, or birth with certain friends or family members who always like to bring up worse case scenarios….everyone has a negative Nancy is their life 😉 Educating yourself about the things that scare you will also help to relieve some of this fear. Also, listening to POSITIVE birth stories will also help you have confidence in your decisions as a new Mama. - If you ARE exercising and eating clean (I like the 80/20 rule) then keep it up Mama…. If you’re NOT then you need to start sooner rather than later! I know you don’t need another lecture about this, but a healthy lifestyle WILL affect your pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum recovery experience! Just start with whole foods.
